At Motech we supply structural steel to a range of clients, including both local builders and national construction companies.
We can supply one-offs to support a specific project, or we can supply batches as and when required. Simply fire over the specification and we’ll confirm the costs and potential timescales.
Off-the-shelf
If there are parts you need quite regularly, we can agree rates in advance, so there’s no time wasted putting quotes together, which helps keep the unit cost down.

Bespoke Fabrications
For more complicated steelwork, such as staircases, walkways, platforms, or mezzanine floors, a site survey is likely, after which fabrication drawings and 3D models will be submitted for approval and a cost put together.

How we do it…
First, we review the design drawings, structural calculations, and any material specifications, in order to scope the work.
This includes deciding upon the optimum connection methods, which is often left to the fabricator to decide.
Next, we create 3D models of the parts, prior to creating the fabrication drawings.
3D models make it much easier to identify any potential issues with the design before any metal is cut.
This allows us to address potential problems, prior to fabrication, helping to ensure we get it right first time; minimising risk, minimising cost.
And finally, once the 3D Models have been signed off, we create the fabrication drawings and pass them on to production.

We review the design drawings, structural calculations, and any material specifications.
Step 2 - Modeling
We create 3 Models of the parts to help us identify any potential issues with the design.
Step 3 - Fabrication
Once the 3D models are signed off, we create the fabrication drawings ready for production.
