Fabrication – Parts and Components
Flexible enough to work around your requirements, whether you need a one-off piece or a production run.
- One-off Components and Prototyping
- Batch and Higher Volume Runs
If you’ve got drawings available, simply fire them over and we’ll put a cost/delivery schedule together for you.
Don’t have any drawings, we can reverse engineer an existing component, or we can take your ideas, sketches and notes, and create the drawings necessary to complete the work.
New or Replacement Parts
Simply forward us your drawings/sketches and we can put together a quote, detailing the setup and production costs, along with the project timescales.
Reverse Engineering
We can manufacture new components from existing parts, even if they are worn or broken. Creating a brand-new replacement part complete with drawings.
Prototyping and Design Support
Not just here to turn the handle, we can use our knowledge of fabrication to help design components that are not simply fit for purpose, but are optimised for production.
Reverse Engineering
We’re often called upon to fabricate parts that are no longer available off-the-shelf. Obsolete parts that even Google can’t find a replacement for.
Indeed it’s not uncommon for one of our clients to simply pop in with a part, and ask us to create copies of it.
First off, we take the part and measure it up by hand so we can create a CAD drawing of the part.
Next, we examine the material. What’s it currently made of? What could it be made of, what should it be made of?
Once the initial drawing is complete, we compare it to the original part by comparing points on the drawing with the same points on the part. If they don’t match, the drawing is rejected and redone.
Only once the new drawing has been validated against the original part do we pass it onto production.
Step 1 - Measure
First, we measure the part up by hand, so we can create a fabrication drawing.
Step 2 - Inspect
What’s the part currently made of, what could it be made of, what should it be made of?
Step 3 - Check
By comparing multiple points on the drawing with the same points on the part we can ensure the drawing is correct.
Step 4 - Fabricate
Once the drawing has been validated against the original part, we pass it on to production.
